I hail from India - a unique and distinct place among the other countries of the world, The host of a culture that has been prevalent for a long time, one of the most diverse countries in the world from the attire worn by the people belonging to different communities to the languages spoken and even in the food habits, the country both reflects its diversity and varied heritage. My diverse background acted as an employment asset in my technology career.
I joined EY as a Senior Consultant, and am now a Manager in Digital and Emerging Technology within EY’s Technology consulting practice. I have been consulting clients in Digital Engineering & Cloud Services practice for DET, managing deliverables and providing technical expertise and leadership.
When I joined EY, consulting was new to me and being at EY I have fallen in love with the art of consulting. It brings out the best of the technical experience I have earned over years.
Everything and every day has been a learning experience for me since I have been at EY - be it learning to give effective presentations or how to be an effective leader. The learning experience I enjoy the most is being a Diversity, Equity and Inclusiveness ambassador for DET. We want to build diversity and inclusiveness into everything we do, and to make EY a place where everyone feels free to be themselves and fulfil their potential.
"Trust yourself, do NOT live in fear. Fear nothing and get excited about everything. When something doesn’t go right, laugh at it and move on." This inspires me as a woman in technology. It has been my takeaway from my mum instilling independence in me from a very young age.
Diversity fuels innovation and helps companies remain competitive globally. Incorporating different perspectives into various aspects of business-therefore approaching problems from unique vantage points – can create solutions that would never be generated had everyone thought alike. In fact, there’s evidence that teams with a diversity of intelligence outperform homogenous teams.
My long-term goals involve growing with EY, building a better working world where I can continue to learn, take on additional responsibilities, and contribute as much value as possible to the team and people I work closely with.
